After much consideration, deliberation and consultation it seemed like the permanent make-up industry in South Africa wanted its’ own association. With the assistance and participation of industry during 2011 the Permanent Cosmetics Association of South Africa (PCASA) was formed. |
PCASA is registered as a Section 21 company and has representatives in each province as well as creating portfolios within the association to ensure that all needs will be met and supported with regards to all aspects of Permanent Makeup. This will ensure that the technicians belonging to PCASA have a credible name and a regulating body.
PCASA members can expect the following: • International Affiliation with the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP). • Possibility of completing the CPCP exam (international recognition). • Members may attend the annual members meeting and have full voting rights. • Discounted membership rates for the annual Permanent Makeup (PMU) conference. • Member’s names/business logos will appear on the website as an additional form of advertising and credibility verification to consumers. • Availability of annual blood borne pathogen course. • A quarterly newsletter featuring the latest news and technologies locally and internationally with thanks to the SPCP affiliation. • Special student membership and conference rates. • Training schools and/or trainers can apply for PCASA recognition and will be accredited if they adhere to the PMU education rules and regulations for minimum training, which are in line with the SPCP standards. • Members may attend train-the-trainer (additional fees). • Continual professional development to remain current in the industry. • PCASA will assist members in creating public awareness on the standards of PMU • Members will have access to a community of professionals that will assist with PMU related queries and questions. |

PCASA’s founding board members are dedicated and passionate about PMU. PCASA will aim to create public awareness on PMU issues, and consumers will be able to differentiate between PCASA accredited technicians and non PCASA technicians.
