Skin Scripts Skin Protect SPF 30, intelligent skin protection for new generation Cosmeceutical Skincare Systems, has been awarded CANSA seal of Approvement.
What does this mean?
To be awarded the CANSA seal all sunscreens have to go through rigorous testing and have to comply with the following:
1.
Sunscreen products must be broad spectrum (UVA & UVB), minimum SPF20 and maximum SPF50+ (the permitted SPF claims are: 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 & 50+).

All sunscreen must be tested and validated by an approved local testing facility. Substantiation for all product claims needs to be provided to the testing facility conducting the relevant tests. • Skin Scripts was tested by University of Limpopo - Medunsa Campus (Photo-Biology Lab) • In-Vitro UVA SPF testing procedure to claim it passed as broad spectrum UVA sunscreen. • Skin Protect SPF 30 passed the Skin Irritancy test with flying colours

Packaging and closures need be manufactured in a verified inert material i.e. • Not from plastic in the recycle categories 3, 6 and some in 7 (e.g. polycarbonate) • Free of all known toxins, carcinogens & endocrine/hormone disruptors, inclusive of BPA, Phthalates in general & the 6 phthalates banned in the EU specifically. • Packaging manufacturer/supplier must give written assurance that none of the chemicals have intentionally been added to the manufacturing process.

Dermatological test for product irritancy must be conducted. • Skin protect SPF 30 passed the dermatologist’s test: A “double-blind” test were done, and found that no adverse reactions were reported during the testing phase
All sunscreens must comply with: • Sunscreen standard SANS1557:2012 (Edition 3.1) • The new harmonized Colipa UVA protection claim • SANS 98, Ingredient labeling of cosmetic products • Regulations as specified by the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Association (CTFA) – including safe ingredients and claims

Zinc oxide: natural, physical sun-blocking ingredient, reflects full UV rays (short UVB to long UVA), soothing effects (widely used against skin irritations)
Ectoin: natural substance made from bacteria, increases heat shock proteins (HSP) in cells to stimulate langerhans cells to increase immunity, anti-aging.
Titanium dioxide coated with Manganese oxide: sun block & free-radical scavenger
Butyl methoxy-dibenzoylmethane UVB protector

Directions for use:
•
Be safe, apply 20 minutes before you go into the sun
•
Always re-apply after swimming or sweating.
•
Cover all exposed skin: face, neck, arms, legs & remember ears!

Try and avoid the sun, it's most intense between 10am & 4pm

Ideally reapply every two hours if you’re out in direct sunlight

Don’t neglect sun protection just because its not summer. Autumn & winter sun may lack heat, but still have harmful rays
