The Dr. Miracle’s Curl Care
summer hair care guide for ethnic hair

Rocking your natural ‘do this summer?
Make sure that it is properly cared for with the Dr. Miracle’s Curl Care range –
perfect for an easy-going summer wash-and-go look.

Heat from the sun reduces the protective protein in hair, which wipes out shine and leaves locks brittle. Add to that UV rays, humidity, and chlorine and saltwater, and your hair becomes dehydrated, leaving it vulnerable to dryness and damage.

The Curl Care range, which contains ingredients like jojoba and aloe oils, revitalises and restores your dry and damaged hair leaving your curls moisturised and fresh!

The Dr. Miracle’s summer hair care guide provides you with an easy three-step hair care routine as well as tips to help you maintain your luscious locks.

1. Cleansing

In summer, because of the heat, your hair will have more buildup than what you’re used to. It is important to wash frequently, but not every day, in order for your curls to look their best!

Try washing at least twice a week with the Curl Care Rehydrating Shampoo - the low suds formula, together with Vitamins A, E and Panthenol, helps rehydrate curls as it gently cleanses. It moisturises, conditions and improves manageability, leaving your curly hair strong, healthy and shiny.

TIP: Avoid co-washing, i.e. washing your hair with conditioner only, during summer. This will only add to your buildup, making your curls heavier.

2. Conditioning

It is important to lock in moisture and protect your hair, but in summer do so with caution. The Curl Care Nourishing Conditioner (R99.99, 60ml) or Boosting & Defining Leave In Conditioner helps hold your curl for up to 12 hours. The coconut and Jojoba infused conditioners not only conditions and strengthens your hair but also softens your curl – perfect for kinky, curly or wavy hair.

TIP: Deep conditioning does not have to take place weekly (like you would in winter) but could be done bi-weekly. Over conditioning could add to product buildup.

3. Styling

The perfect summer hairdo – the “wash-and-go”! After your cleansing and conditioning steps, apply the Curl Care Soft Hold Crème – infused with jojoba oils and proteins, this leave-in conditioner defines and refines your curls, leaving your curls soft and moisturised.

TIP: To avoid washing too often and losing your natural oils, fill your spray bottle with approximately 90% water and 10% hair oil. Gently spray before styling – this will quickly revitalise your curl without the effort.
