Back 2 Basics with Laser Hair Removal

Your questions answered. Introducing the latest innovations to laser hair removal by Alma Lasers. No more pain and faster treatment times can now be guaranteed.

Before booking away, have a look at these insightful Q & A’s you might want to consider before undergoing treatments:
What does the term LASER stand for?
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

How effective is laser hair removal?

The Soprano is a fast and effective laser for almost anyone who has it done. However, an essential factor to consider is that you need to make sure the provider is well-skilled in laser hair removal. Therefore any therapist that has been trained through us has also been provided with a certification of this achievement.

Do I have to undergo a painful treatment/ or a treatment that requires additional cooling?

No. Alma Lasers provide the patent on Pain Free – Hair Free™ technology. In spite of the heat, Alma Lasers systems provide a comfortable treatment due to In-Motion™ technology and contact cooling to -3°C.

Is there any alternative to the usual Pick & Place laser systems?

Alma Lasers has now made it possible to freely move over your skin with the laser head multiple times. This eliminates the chance of missing any hair follicles. This In-Motion™ technology has made it safe & comfortable for the patient, while being pain free.

Is laser hair removal safe for all skin types?

Alma lasers are safe on all skin types – and in all areas.

Should I shave/ wax/ thread/ Veet before being treated?

Shaving or Veeting must take place before treatment. No waxing or threading is permitted as the waxing and threading removes the follicle that needs to be targeted through the laser. Make sure you do not wax or thread during your course of treatments.

How many treatments can I expect to go for?

Each body reacts differently. It’s also dependant on your hair density and skin colour. On average, 6-10 treatments with a 4-6 week interval are required for small areas, while a 6-8 week interval is needed for bigger areas.

How safe is laser hair removal?

The Soprano laser, rather than exposing the hair follicle to a single high energy pulse, which can cause trauma to the skin with a high melanin count, uses SHR technology to gradually heat the skin until the desired heat energy is delivered to the hair follicle. This makes SHR the safest hair removal option, including for dark skinned patients
